Taste
The first taste explodes on the tongue with plums and redcurrants. These linger on the back of the tongue whilst also being slowly replaced by darker fruits - the tartness of blackcurrants mingling with sharp blackberries. Sweet dark sugar is present, but only in a supporting role, rather than making the beer cloying. Finally, when the glass is empty, you are left with the rich aftertaste - a reminder of the velvety, elegant body and refined flavours of the beer and pinot noir oak in symbiosis.
Nose
Rich red wine — sweet blackcurrant jam intermingles with pipe tobacco and sour black cherries. Some vanilla peeks out, rounding the edges and leaving an inviting aroma of red berries.
Appearance
Black with a deep red hue and a creamy tan head that lingers briefly.
